This is the seventh stage of the Hero’s Journey.
The hero encounters a value that drives him to consciously and forcefully enter the world of the antagonism - something he has previously resisted on some level. This value is often outside the hero’s present frame of reference or pattern of behaviour and involves significant sacrifice.
The goal of this stage of the journey is to Seize the Sword - a tangible purpose that lays in the depths of the antagonisms world. Therefore it is not unusual that the Sword lies deep underground, in the dark, in an uncomfortable environment, is guarded by the antagonist’s lieutenants and so on.
In Carlito’s Way, Al Pacino agrees to help Kleinfeld break Tony T out of jail. (the Sword) He does this out of loyalty to his perceived “brother,” who saved him from a thirty-year stretch in prison. Even though it is against his best instincts, against the advice of his spiritual guide (Gail) and at risk to his romantic challenge (Gail).
In The Godfather, Al Pacino secretly hopes to avoid following in his father’s footsteps - even though he shoots Captain McCluskey and Sollozo, he still hopes that after Sicily he will be able to stay our of the Mafia. But the assassination of his brother Santino drives him to seek revenge and head the clan (the Sword).
In A Fistful of Dynamite, Rod Steiger is an avaricious bandit. But the murder of his children causes him to “count them for the first time,” and consciously seek revenge (the Sword) - a non-avaricious goal - even though there is a high risk that he will be captured and executed.
In The Empire Strikes Back, Luke Skywalker catches a glimpse of the future where Han, Leia et al are being tortured. He has to give up his training with Yoda and set out, without the assistance of his supernatural aid (Obi Wan) to save them (the Sword).

Indian are the most different people on earth. We harbor so much of color, race, religion and caste prejudice. If we look at the matrimonial columns, we will see the difference. So many castes, religions and subdivisions we have and how much role play in choosing one’s life partner. From here you will realize that the despite the teachings of religious reformers from the time of Gautam Budha, Kabir, Nanak, and the Mahatama Gandhi, still caste system prevails in India. Lower castes are still looked down in India and suffer lot of discriminations and humiliations. The legislations we have made and reservation given, have not achieved their desired results. They are able to produce only marginal results. We can see the manifestation of this problem in wide spread violence in Punjab and Haryana.
What is more distressing is that our people carry the load of prejudices even when they go abroad. They stick to their on religious and linguistic groups. They develop their children in their value and marry them in their caste and country. They try very less to mingle with people of those countries where they are. Where the people of most these countries are very accepting and warm. Where as at the same time they are the loudest in protesting against the racial discrimination
By interacting with the America, England Canadian friends, who complain that do their best to be friend with Indians. They invited Indians for their home and sight seeing. There extended friendship hand is rarely grasped. We know many Indians who have become American, British or Canadian , however they hardly bothered to be friend with the people their and accept the values of those countries. But they are there to get the all benefits of that state. In this time Indians have to come out of their shell and accept other realities.

Intuition is the divine ability to connect with our inner self.
It is the part of us that knows the answers to questions before
they are even asked. However in our society, we seem to have
decided that it is far better to be reasonable and logical. Have
we not yet learned that the two should be in loving relationship
to one another and not in competition? By joining the forces of
logic and intuition, one can even enhance their safety from one
of the most damaging criminal acts-sexual assault.
Sexual assault is non-consensual sexual contact. Women, men and
children of all ages can be victimized by sexual assault. A
rapist may be a stranger, acquaintance, or relative. In 1998,
the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Statistics reported
that roughly 18% or 17.7 million women had experienced rape or
attempted rape at some point in their lifetime.
Most people are more at risk of being assaulted by people who
know them. Between 70-80% of all sexual assaults occur at the
hands of someone that the victim knows. By nurturing our
intuition with awareness we can help others and ourselves to
enhance their safety:
Be aware that that it can happen to you or someone you love.
Ignoring the reality may further increase the risk.
Be aware that someone may attempt to disrupt your intuitive flow
by asking you a question or providing you with information.
Often strangers will ask a question like “Excuse me, do you know
what time it is?” “How do I get to route 301 from here?” or say
something like “It sure is hot out here!” “Your purse is open.”
“Your ride is here.” When you allow yourself to begin thinking
only, you are not connected to the discomfort of being in the
presence of someone you do not know. Maintain a balance of
intuition and reasoning.
Be aware of the discomfort that comes with being alone with a
person that you do not know well. In the absence of intuition,
we tell ourselves that nothing will happen or that we are being
silly. Our inner self is right when it informs us that it may
take quite awhile before we should feel comfortable enough to
trust another person enough to be alone with them.
Be aware that it is dangerous to leave your beverages
unattended if you are in the company of persons you do not know
and trust well whether male or female.
Trust the voice of your core if you are getting a message that
someone is being too controlling. Be aware that it is not safe
to be in a position that causes you to be dependent upon another
person. Carry a well-charged cell phone and always know whom you
can call in a jam.
When communicating your limits and boundaries speak from the
core. Speak clearly in short concise statements. Polite
statements may be ignored. Make it clear that your decision is
not up for discussion.
Be aware that many victims will never share their painful
secret with those who might expect that they would. Reassure the
people in your life care about that they can come to you if the
unfortunate happens and someone assaults them. Children and
other loved ones should be assured that you will not blame them
and they will not be in trouble if they share “secrets” with
you. Take the time to educate yourself about sexual assault and
the effects on the victims, you may need it sooner than you
realize.
Be aware that many victims will never share their painful
secret with those who might expect that they would. Right now is
the time to talk to your loved ones who will be attending
college. Maintain ongoing communication with young men as well
as young women about safe behavior. Encourage young men to
educate themselves about consent and remind them to follow their
intuition and not be lured into supporting jokes or situations
in which someone may be assaulted.
These points of awareness may help to reduce your risk of sexual
assault but may not entirely prevent this violent crime from
occurring. It is important to keep in mind that the offender is
always to blame and that sexual assault is never the fault of
the survivor. No one asks or deserves to be sexually assaulted.
If the unfortunate does happen, be aware that help is available.

I recently became aware that promoting your web site in Search Engines can instantly be double within Google! That’s right, you can instantly promote your site 2 times at once!
So how do you Market Your Site twice?
Simple…
Most of us typically promote www.yoursite.com. But what you need to realize is that most sites can be found on search engines simply by entering… http://yoursite.com - without the www.
Try it for a second, lets go to google and type in your url with the www. and then without the www.
So for me it would be:
The same will apply for sub-domains as well. A sub-domain is a section of your site dedicated to something you create but instead of residing within your normal directory, it resides within it’s own directory, like I’ve illustrated below…
Normal:
www.yoursite.com
Sub-Domain:
www.sub-domain.yoursite.com
And with that again, you can promote your sub-domain twice in Search Engines like so…
- www.sub-domain.yoursite.com
So in turn, I’ve just showed you how you can promote 4 sites with all the same goal in mind, yours of course!
How to utilize your new found knowledge:
Hopefully, you are all aware of how important it is to create a link exchange program for your business? Well, what you simply want to do is to mix up your links when submitting to other companies for a listing within their site.
In other words…
Lets say I just found 4 sites that I want to exchange links with, I would do something like this…
Site #1: I would submit (www.yoursite.com)
Site #2: I would submit (http://yoursite.com)
Site #3: I would submit (www.sub-domain.yoursite.com)
Site #4: I would submit (http://sub-domain.yoursite.com)
Now I’m promoting my site with 4 times the power than before!
But don’t stop there…
Do you write articles? How about committing 2 of your links to every article. Change them up with each article.
Ex:
Article #1 (How to Submit Your Site to Search Engines)
Try adding
www.yoursite.com
www.sub-domain.yoursite.com
Article #2 (How to Market Your Site Twice)
Try adding
http://yoursite.com &
http://sub-domain.yoursite.com
I hope this small timbit of knowledge gives you the edge you need to put your business ahead of the game!
Best of luck to you!

What do “X-Men”, “Jurassic Park”, “Predator”, and “Mission Impossible” all have in common? They are all trilogies. Trilogies, or groups of three are all the rage these days. From movie trilogies like “Star Wars”, Indiana Jones, “X-Men” and “Matrix” to “Jurassic Park”, “Predator”, “Jaws” and “Mission Impossible” among a number of others, we’ve grown expectant of the “Epic Saga” in three parts. Even Westerns, that on-again, off-again genre that audiences hate such a love-hate relationship with, have not been spared the trilogy format. Just ask Clint Eastwood.
There are some movies and book series which run longer. Harry Potter, James Bond, Superman and the infamous Hannibal Lector have all made multiple appearances. King Kong has climbed New York skyscrapers in multiple remakes of this classic. Let’s not forget the “Alien” series either. It did wonders for Sigourney Weaver. And just look at what Arnold started with “Predator”. He wasn’t in any of the sequels, either. I’m not even sure how many of Freddy Krueger’s “Nightmare on Elm Street” sequels there are. “Halloween” is another series of sequels that just goes on and on. How many times has “Rambo” crossed our path? “Rocky” is another one that keeps coming back for beating after beating, on screen and at the box office. Remember the “Pink Panthers” anyone?
Then you have a cascade of books and films now at two parts and poised for the hat trick. “Legally Blond”, “XXX”, “Ice Age”, “Shrek” are among those currently at this stage. Think there’ll be a trilogy for each? I wouldn’t bet against it. Would you?
So what does all this mean for you? Just that you should think along the same lines and write your articles in doubles at the least. Writing them in triple or more parts would be even better. If an article draft is 750 to 900 words, you should break it into a double pack. Clean up and rework the opening and concluding paragraphs for each “part” and Voila! Your one article has now become two web-content style pieces. With a draft of 1200 to 1400 word or so article draft, you can easily make three articles. You only need about 350 to 400 words or so to “seed” a new article. I typically write in threes. You should too. Divide your article drafts to multiply your production and make more sales.
What about the titles? You can simply title your new pieces as part 1, part two and part three. Or you may want to come up with a new title for each piece. A combination of these might also be in order. But whichever route you choose to take, with minimal effort, you’ve now turned your basic research and one article draft into multiple articles. More articles mean more exposure. More exposure means more readers. More readers mean more potential markets reached. More reachable markets mean more sales. That all translates into more “moolah” in your stash. So divide your article drafts to multiply your production to increase your writing income.

Writing in your journal every day may seem arduous. Perhaps you think you have nothing to write there. But to write every day and fish for those ideas is one way to tap your untapped brain resources and apply them to a writer’s page - every single day.
There was a book called “The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind.” I thought for sure that book would be too didactic, too academic and way too “genius level” for me to be able to read it. But I did, and I’m glad for that. It turned out to be at only an above average reading level, not a genius one. And it gave me some ideas about writing.
For one thing, in that book, the anthropologist author, who had a bent toward psychiatry, claimed that early humans probably heard voices before they learned how to talk. He thought that people as recent as the ancient Greeks and Romans still heard voices as they went about their business of war and civilization. Now, I’m not claiming you should hear voices, but it is the sort of claim that shows that all people must have an imagination of some sort.
You don’t have to hear voices in your head - I’m not suggesting that. The last thing I want you to do is to end up on psychiatric medications. Those are cripplers. But you can find your own “inner voice” that will tell you what to write in a daily journal, if you simply pick up your pen or pencil, take an empty journal, and begin to write down your thoughts. This should be the same as your daily exercise and dietary programs.
You can write on the bus on a long commute to your job. You can write in your car on the same type of long commute. You can set aside an hour of your time every day to write in your journal, quietly after dinner to avoid desert and those extra calories. Your “desert” can instead be you writing in your journal.
In a ten year period of time, I managed to fill up some thirty or more hardbound empty journaling books, each with about 200 pages, simply by writing about my life in them at odd moments. I wrote, I wrote, and I wrote some more, about anything and everything. It was good practice and kept my word knowledge, my writing capabilities, and my grammatical and syntax abilities alive and well during “dry” periods of no real writing work in my life. I’ve been a freelance writer, copyeditor and ghost writer since before 1980, and doing this simple practice really “oiled the machinery” of my writing. Now that I write articles and website copy on a regular basis, I don’t seem to need it anymore. But I’m thinking of taking up journaling again in the near future. I live to write.
Go for it. Buy one of those thick, padded books. They have blank pages. Buy two or three if they’re on sale or you have the money. Date each and every one of your entries - you might want to refer back to them later as material to write something from. And make an entry into the journal each and every day of your life. When you finish off one journal, move on to the next one, keeping the filled journal in a box or somewhere safe.
I finally had to dump all of my journals, as we were moving and they were “only taking up room.” I severely regret that now, as I had kept track of my life that way. Fortunately, I have enough in my head from which to glean and garner my life history, should I ever happen to get around to writing it. But I had poured my entire soul out into those journals, even though they were mostly only a daily log of my activities.
As Kurt Vonnegut, said, however, the writing itself is what matters, even if you throw it all away. Write into your journals, and get started on writing that novel. You may feel disgust, like you never will get published. But I wrote my first novel, and I got published. It may be a small start for you, but it will happen. You will have to keep at it. Daily, on a day by day basis, is best. Write for every single day of your life. You won’t be sorry.

Having experimented with a few ways of structuring and writing novels, gleaned from reading books and implementing strategies, I’ve concluded that outlining is helpful and does pay off.
You have to have a sense of what your story is and where it is going. If you are writing a mystery or romance novel, for example, you have a good idea of who the detective and killer are in a mystery and who wins in the end. Likewise, in a romance novel, you know if the guy will get the girl, or whether the girl gets the guy.
There are other examples too. In westerns and science fiction, you probably begin with one or more bad guys and good guys and can easily determine the outcome. And to a lesser, “iffier” extent, you can pretty much determine the outcome in chic lit.
Developing an outline for the genres mentioned above is not really that difficult, so long as you have a good story and an interesting twist.
On the other hand, if you only know, for example, that you want to write a humorous novel, you may have a bit of a challenge on your hands. You have to determine who the hero or heroine is, the main problem and theme, and the outcome. And you have to combine those elements in an interesting, funny way right from the get-go. For example, in the movie, “What About Bob?” you are almost introduced immediately to the two main characters, Bob, who has a problem, and his newly-appointed psychiatrist, who gets stuck with Bob at the last minute, right before vacation. And while the psychiatrist really wants no part of Bob, Bob wants him to be available at his beck and call.
If you thought about writing a story about a psychiatrist and his or her patient, you could try outlining your story’s development or sequence or completing a few character sketches first. As you worked, however, you would soon discover that the story’s details keep changing, and if you change a few things in the beginning, you’ve virtually changed your entire plot, and have to go back to square one.
I also tried character sketches and outlines, working several months with each, but never quite managed to kick off a good plot. What I do now, and have some success with, is go right back to the basics and first figure out the beginning and end of my story. For example, in the end of my present novel-in-progress, I know that my main character, a laid-back, good-for-nothing, ex-mobster of a grubber, will overcome his problems of getting a decent income in the end. All I have to do now is figure out how he’s going to overcome everything and everyone who stands in his way and reach his goal. I was ready to outline and am now up to Chapter 14. I know where I’ve been in this novel and where this novel is going, saving myself months of work and aggravation and frustration.
The moral is that if you know exactly how your novel ends, you will find that outlining the rest of it is highly effective, especially when you keep asking yourself, “And then what?”
To help herself and others overcome the fear of getting ideas and developing them into articles and stories, Dorothy Zjawin’s writing website, http://www.profitable-pen.com focuses on using journals to jumpstart those larger writing projects.
