Long-surviving Companies Have Stories to Share

Filed under: Doing Business, History Parlor, House Of The Social Web — admin @ 2:22 am

Every story has a beginning, a middle, and an end. Here is one story that appears to still be in its middle. It’s a story of struggle, growth, and success. It’s a tale of courage, innovation, and leadership. It’s a … okay, it’s just a story but with all that build you’re probably expecting to read about some great person who achieve great things for his people. Right? Wrong.

Believe it or not, but corporations both large and small have their own stories. They live out virtual lives as legal entities. You can see some corporate stories ended rather sadly if you drive down certain roads. You’ll see old abandoned buildings that once proudly sported large marquees with well-known business names on them. But the businesses are gone, sometimes having been defunct for decade. It makes you wonder what happened to the people who owned those companies, their workers, and their customers.

Some companies survive tough times to thrive, however. For example, look at regional custom window manufacturer Penguin Windows. That company was founded in the early 1980s, which means it has survived at least two economic downturns (1998 and 2000) and it’s still in business during the Great Recession of 2008-2009. Of course anyone who has lost their income will tell you that there is nothing great about a recession, but the fact that so many companies can make it through a very rough economic downturn is simply amazing.

And perhaps the neat thing about Penguin Windows is that they have not only survived, they celebrated their 25th (silver) anniversary in business in the year 2009. By offering a sweepstakes to celebrate its anniversary, Penguin Windows was able to attract new business and show its community of customers that it was grateful for doing business with them.

Who is to say whether Penguin Windows will be around after the next big recession. But we can say one thing for sure: there will always be business survivors, and every company has its own story to tell. You might want to check out the history of your own company. They might have some interesting tales to share with you.

Metal and fruit is the nature, what problems is the industry consider that it’s a master peace. You know that adds, are paying off the country and that its cheaper to buy the pour portion. Pills, heat, electrified honest and good behave metal and fruit that even our lady Eve, couldn’t resist. Shall hang to myself by the neck Until I let myself pass to far, I pass myself up Now I’m scared to the bloody bone Curiosity was, first injected, with lovers calling it a theme Told me stories of pain And I’ll share you about a friend with no name Democracy was not the same when we share a band of revolutionary Someone is going to be counted out, shinning from up above. March of a campaign where we loose some of it’s inns, hearts and love Millions of pictures with tiny voices Are going to get you with choices Come up a board with Icicles bleed from war We intake engulfed ourselves for the love for each other. We make-believe and play zombies there’s only passing time with each other For now and forever, together were going to count and not stand behind the line in forever, well wind down Together forever all at once, I’ll lead this time, I’ll hold the hand till you learn how to climb. Millions of pictures with tiny voices Are going to get you with choices Come up a board with Icicles bleed from war Now its all going down hill with the tumble of the human flesh where bullets chasing your head Another mans Karma is a fluke to another’s spoke, modify the human extortion Pills, heat, electrified honest and good behave metal and fruit that even our lady eve, couldn’t resist. Bomb shell with a strap to my chest While I stretch the human capacity of window plane Now out of luck with an armor with the screams to the fullest A prodigy I’ve came to believe that a marvel is no different from me Fold me into reformatory And I’ll cut you loose from the noose that got you tangled Emperor to what is left of this country when shout out ambassador with an uproar Anyone want to volunteer for the mans dirty work and rip open We dance with the devil in Gods county where we loose some, charity and soul. Millions of pictures with tiny voices Are going to get you with choices Come up a board with Icicles bleed from war
