This renewable, pollution-free, economical source of energy has the ability to change the world - and many countries are taking advantage of this free source of energy by building wind farms. And this wind turbines is not only a green source of energy but also free and abundant. Among the advantages of having a domestic wind turbines includes the reduction on our reliance to fossil fuels. Unlike wind energy which is free, oil is not free so the electricity generated from burning fossils fuel is subjected to fluctuation of oil price. In addition, burning of gas and oil emits toxic substances that contribute to pollution and global warming. Construction of domestic wind turbines are now can be done on your rooftops and it does not need a large space. The advantage of wind is that is that is a free resource that seems to exist just about everywhere, and converting wind to electricity is a simple matter of pointing a windmill into the wind and letting it go to work. Or is it? There is a lot more to think about when it comes to harnessing the wind in an urban environment. The first major hurdle that a homeowner will face is whether or not installing a wind turbine is even allowed by local bylaws. This has the effect of pushing the costs up due to the requirement for larger energy storage systems, and over-specified solar panels to accommodate the worst solar conditions. Domestic wind turbines may be less unobtrusive than solar panels, but they can deliver useful amounts of electricity all year round. A typical 9 feet diameter turbine can produce enough electricity for many householders to go off-grid altogether, or at least to significantly reduce their bills.
