Tea Grading System

Filed under: Drinks + Meals — admin @ 10:25 pm

You’ve seen FTGFOP, BOP, CTC on labels of tea…

What do these codes mean?

These codes are used to classify single estate teas such as Darjeeling, Ceylon, and Assam. At the end of a tealeaf makeing process, a machine will separate the tealeaves according to their type, size, and categorize them into different grades.

Letters like P: Pekoe, O: Orange, B: Broken, etc, are connected to indicate the different grades of the black tea.

Here is a summary of the most commonly used codes:

OP: Orange Pekoe
Usually refers to relatively longer and complete tealeaf.

BOP: Broken Orange Pekoe
Refers to broken orange pekoe. They make a stronger brew than OP, so they are more suitable to make milk tea.

FOP: Flowery Orange Pekoe
Refers to tealeaves that have buds, which would create a floral fragrance in the tea.

FBOP: Flower Broken Orange Pekoe
Contains both buds and broken tea leaves. Makes a stronger tea with floral fragrance.

TGFOP: Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe
Contains young buds, which appear golden. Makes a much more fragrant and strong tea than FOP.

FTGFOP: Fine(est) Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe
Very high quality tea that went through an extra procedure of rolling, which would draw out the best flavour in tea.

SFTGFOP: S stands for Super or Special. The meaning is obvious.

CTC: Crush, Tear, Curl
These teas are compressed into small pieces by a special machine. CTC leaves make a very strong brew in short amount of time. It is ideal for consuming with milk.

Others: Fanning, Dust
Refers to very small pieces of tealeaves. Usually used in India to make Chai or milk tea.

Sometimes, there is a “1″ at the end of a tea name, such as FOP1 or FTGFOP1. It means the first grade of that particular tea: FOP1 means the first grade of that FOP.

The number of letters, however, does not necessarily mean the quality of tea. Some people prefer BOP instead of FTGFOP becuase BOP makes stronger tea, which is suitable for consuming with milk.

Food for Healthy Nails

Filed under: House Of Nutrition — admin @ 2:55 am

Nails are a protective horn at the end of our most sensitive extremities: fingers and toes. They can often become injured from accidents or crushing weight such as heavy walking or running. They can also become infected from bacterial or fungal infections as well as separated from the nail bed or chipped from harsh weather.

The nails are often a reflection of our overall health or nutritional deficiencies. Some
ways to listen to what your nails are trying to tell you are:

• Iron/Protein/Calcium Deficiency = brittle, concave, ridged, white half moons

• Too much salt = external fibrous growths

• Nervousness / hyper thyroid = separation of the nail bed

• Respiratory Difficulties = bluish discoloration

• Bronchial Difficulties = yellowish discoloration

• Anemia = pale nail beds

• Vitamin A Deficiency = peeling nails

• Zinc Deficiency = poor nail growth

• Vegetable Quality Oils Deficiency = thin, brittle nails

• Consumption Extremes in Diet (especially meats and refined foods) = washboard
ridges

What we eat actually does affect the appearance of these external parts of our
bodies. Start paying attention to your hands (and feet!) and feeding your body right.

The food we put IN the body affects the health of our nails, but that doesn’t mean to
completely ignore the food we put ON the body either. Contrary to many fabulously
smart marketing campaigns you don’t need to spend a lot of money on chemically
enhanced products to experience strength and beauty on your outside.

Natural oils are an excellent way to treat the external condition of the finger and
toenails. Different oils affect the body differently. A great way to determine what oil
would suit your body best is to examine your heritage and connect to the
predominant oil in that part of the world.

Once you have determined which is best for your particular body’s need use some
time in the evening to take a “nail bath” (remember … the skin is our most
absorbent organ …)

1. Allow your nails to soak in a small bowl of oil or gently rub the oil into the nails

2. Cover with cotton gloves, cotton socks

3. Sleep

Top Three Oils to Treat Your Nails Right

1. Coconut Oil: one of the few significant plant sources of lauric acid. This medium
chain fatty acid, which is also found in human milk, enhances brain function and the
immune system.

2. Palm Kernel: when unrefined, this high saturation oil is the one of the most stable
of oils providing strength and ultimate saturation to the skin.

3. Olive Oil: the most stable vegetable oil, high in vitamin E, provides support to the
liver and gallbladder (yes, no matter how you take it into the body).

Now, take a minute and think about how those chemically enhanced skin and nail
products are affecting your body …

Writing Articles: Divide and Multiply to Increase Your Writing Income

Filed under: Publishing + More — admin @ 4:51 pm

What do “X-Men”, “Jurassic Park”, “Predator”, and “Mission Impossible” all have in common? They are all trilogies. Trilogies, or groups of three are all the rage these days. From movie trilogies like “Star Wars”, Indiana Jones, “X-Men” and “Matrix” to “Jurassic Park”, “Predator”, “Jaws” and “Mission Impossible” among a number of others, we’ve grown expectant of the “Epic Saga” in three parts. Even Westerns, that on-again, off-again genre that audiences hate such a love-hate relationship with, have not been spared the trilogy format. Just ask Clint Eastwood.

There are some movies and book series which run longer. Harry Potter, James Bond, Superman and the infamous Hannibal Lector have all made multiple appearances. King Kong has climbed New York skyscrapers in multiple remakes of this classic. Let’s not forget the “Alien” series either. It did wonders for Sigourney Weaver. And just look at what Arnold started with “Predator”. He wasn’t in any of the sequels, either. I’m not even sure how many of Freddy Krueger’s “Nightmare on Elm Street” sequels there are. “Halloween” is another series of sequels that just goes on and on. How many times has “Rambo” crossed our path? “Rocky” is another one that keeps coming back for beating after beating, on screen and at the box office. Remember the “Pink Panthers” anyone?

Then you have a cascade of books and films now at two parts and poised for the hat trick. “Legally Blond”, “XXX”, “Ice Age”, “Shrek” are among those currently at this stage. Think there’ll be a trilogy for each? I wouldn’t bet against it. Would you?

So what does all this mean for you? Just that you should think along the same lines and write your articles in doubles at the least. Writing them in triple or more parts would be even better. If an article draft is 750 to 900 words, you should break it into a double pack. Clean up and rework the opening and concluding paragraphs for each “part” and Voila! Your one article has now become two web-content style pieces. With a draft of 1200 to 1400 word or so article draft, you can easily make three articles. You only need about 350 to 400 words or so to “seed” a new article. I typically write in threes. You should too. Divide your article drafts to multiply your production and make more sales.

What about the titles? You can simply title your new pieces as part 1, part two and part three. Or you may want to come up with a new title for each piece. A combination of these might also be in order. But whichever route you choose to take, with minimal effort, you’ve now turned your basic research and one article draft into multiple articles. More articles mean more exposure. More exposure means more readers. More readers mean more potential markets reached. More reachable markets mean more sales. That all translates into more “moolah” in your stash. So divide your article drafts to multiply your production to increase your writing income.

Easy Study Skills for Exams

Easy Study Skills for Exams

———————-

Study skills: do you start reading at one end of your library and try to read through to the other end?

Of course not. So you already know one effective approach. Be selective! We can build on that now.

————————————-

More Study Skills - what not to study

————————————-

Whole books

Your lecturer tells you to read “War and Peace”. If you have study skills you won’t! Even with perfect memory - how much of the book can you cover in an exam essay that takes 40 minutes to write?

Look through the library for abridged versions of your books, or commentaries… Now you’re using your study skills.

Buy your textbooks 2nd hand. Why do you think they are in perfect condition? Because the last students hardly opened them!

Why should you buy books that the last student didn’t read? Now you’re thinking! Now you’re using study skills.

Whole syllabus

One benefit of attending classes is that you get a skeleton outline to apply your study skills. The skeleton will be complete for the sake of completeness. But only some parts matter to your study skills.

———————————————–

Study yourself - you’re interesting aren’t you?

———————————————–

Each day write down at what time of day you didn’t mind using your study skills, and could really get down to work. Write down the times when you hated to study. I study best early in the morning. You might study best late at night.

Do you work best in a totally silent room, or with background music?

Do you work better if you are petting the dog or does it interfere with your study skills?

—————————-

Use your spying study skills

—————————-

Find past exam papers in the library. Put them in order by date, then go through the earliest one, and write down the subjects in a column at the left of your page. Put the date at the top of the second column and a tick for each subject. Now put the date of the next paper and a tick opposite each subject that is repeated, and write in any new subjects.

Do the same for all the years that you have. Why is the date important? Look at your table. If a subject appeared every year from the left, then suddenly stopped appearing it probably means that the examiner changed. Study all the subjects that appear every year first. Then study those that appear four years out of five… you get the idea.

—————————————-

Important study skills - Make a calendar

—————————————-

Plan in detail which subjects you’ll study on which days until the exam.

Don’t be too ambitious. You already know that at some times of the day you can’t use your study skills. You know that you won’t want to study on your birthday or Christmas day or… Just be realistic. A calendar that gives you over a thousand hours of study isn’t as good as one that gives you 400 hours that you can stick to.

—————-

Become an expert

—————-

You’ve used your study skills to cut out big chunks of your syllabus. Use the time you save to learn more about the parts you’ve left than the examiner knows. Use the internet to search for exciting snippets of information about your shortened syllabus.

Perhaps your examiner doesn’t know the exact day of the week on which an important bit of history happened. Perhaps you’ve forgotten what you read about it, but write down your best guess. The examiner will be impressed, because he doesn’t know that you got it wrong!

————————————

Study skills for the day of the exam

————————————

Everyone will tell you that if you don’t know it, it is too late to learn. They are wrong! They are talking about long-term memory. You will be using short-term memory.

As you are sitting outside the exam room study your formulae, or dates, or anything else that you have difficulty remembering. Whenever the examiner says that you can start writing, write down all these things on scrap paper. You have managed to remember them for ten minutes. You can now forget them until you need them again, which may be never.

————————

Study skills in the exam

————————

“That isn’t allowed!” you exclaim. It definitely is allowed. If you have a multiple choice paper just miss every question that you don’t know. There is usually another related question somewhere. When you see it, you will work out the answer to the question that you didn’t know. That is study isn’t it?

———-

Conclusion

Study smart - not longer than everyone else. Start with a free report on the most powerful exam technique.

An Introduction To Bad Credit Auto Loans

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:23 pm

If you have bad credit, you can still get an auto loan. In fact, bad credit auto loans are very easy to obtain through a variety of sources. If your credit is bad, in most cases you will not be able to obtain financing through a bank, but there are still other options. Unfortunately, bad credit auto loans typically end up costing you a great deal more than the vehicle is actually worth.

There are two options for bad credit auto loans. You can obtain financing through a company like GM, or you can get in-house financing through the car lot if you are purchasing a used vehicle. In most cases, you will be required to put up a large down payment for the vehicle, and you will find that the amount of interest that you will be paying is quite high. Since auto loans are typically five years in length, this higher interest makes your payments higher than they would be if you were able to obtain a bank loan.

Many car lot owners advertise easy financing or easy terms. While this may be an ideal solution for bad credit auto loans, you should beware. As many people find out, that easy financing isn’t everything that it is cracked up to be. The down payment is often very high, the interest is high - and if you miss one payment the automobile is usually repossessed. This means that you are out any money that you have already put in, with no hope of getting the money - or the vehicle - returned to you.

The next time you are shopping for a car with less than perfect credit, and you find a dealer offering easy financing, read all of the fine print to find out exactly why that financing is so easily offered and obtained. There seems to always be a catch.

Auto Loans provides detailed information on Auto Loans, Bad Credit Auto Loans, New Auto Loans, Auto Loan Calculators and more. Auto Loans is affiliated with Bad Credit Car Loans.

Doggin’ Kings Mountain National Military Park: Hike With Your Dog Though The American Revolution

Filed under: Living In Leisure — admin @ 10:07 am

Revolutionary War buffs will certainly want to make the effort to take your dog
to Kings Mountain, site of some of the most vicious American vs. American fighting
of the war. Here some 600 “backcountry” men who had marched over 200 miles
attacked Carolinians loyal to the crown. The Loyalists were under the command of
“Bloody” Patrick Ferguson, the only British soldier in the battle.

Ferguson chose to defend his position on traditional high ground, a rocky
outcropping surrounded by a hardwood forest. The mountain men, however,
worked their way up the slopes, fighting from tree to tree on their way to the
summit. The high ground in this case worked against the defenders as they were
unable to get clear shots at their attackers. Sir Henry Clinton called the defeat at
Kings Mountain, “the first link in a chain of evils that at last ended in the total loss
of America.”

You can hike with your dog on an interpretive walking trail around Battlefield
Ridge. Hiking on the thickly wooded mountainside provides an excellent feel for
what fighting must have been like on that critical day in the American Revolution.
Your canine hike will include an exploration of the spot where Ferguson was killed,
marked by a monument and covered with a traditional Scottish stone cairn.

The Headline Is Your Lifeline

Filed under: Doing Business — admin @ 1:51 pm

Reel them in!

Think for a moment about newspapers. Have you ever heard the
phrase, “the headline screamed…?” This will probably give you an
image of a headline that says, “Town demolished by flood”, or,
“Strange virus discovered in water supply”. Doesn’t it make you
want to read on, to find out the details of the story?

For the purpose of your headline, you do not have to proclaim
disaster in order to get attention. In most cases, you won’t
want “disaster” mentioned in connection with anything having to
do with your business, unless you fix disasters! You also don’t
have to be overly clever or humorous. The direct approach works
best, and is appreciated the most. When prospective clients are
at the door, invite them in. Here are some steps to help you put
together a winning headline, and create not just a reading
audience, but a buying audience.

Define your target market. * Who is your target audience? * What
are the hopes, dreams, wishes, and needs of this audience? * Who
do you think would buy from you? Are they business people,
teenagers, or married couples? Are they spiritual,
health-conscious, or disorganized? * Why is your product a good
fit for this market? Provide a hook. Targeting your target
market. * Speak directly to your audience, as this is the market
that will purchase from you. * Use specifics. “Tired moms”,
“time-challenged business owners”. Let them know you are talking
right to them. Generally, retired people will not be interested
in the trendiest t-shirts for the in-crowd at the local high
school. Aim for your audience. By boiling your business down to
its essential parts, you will be better situated to make sure
you are reaching the right audience, and grabbing their
attention. A buyer needs to feel right away that you are talking
directly to them and that you can improve their life in some
way, or else they will give you neither their time, nor their
dollars.

On the web, you generally have only one opportunity to not only
get someone’s attention, but to keep it. If you lose them at the
headline, you have just lost your opportunity to convince them
why it is such a great idea to do business with you. Grab their
interest. If you don’t, it’s doubtful they will come back again,
and you may have lost a great prospect. Make your headline
count.

Seven Ticks For Organic Gardening

Filed under: Gardening Center — admin @ 11:08 am

Organic gardening is the way of growing vegetables and fruits
with the use of things only found in nature.

Why would one want to indulge in organic gardening?

1. One can easily make compost from garden and kitchen waste.
Though this is a bit more time-consuming than buying prepared
chemical pesticides and fertilizers, it certainly helps to put
garbage to good use and so saves the environment.

2. Organic farming does not use chemicals that may have an
adverse affect on your health. This is especially important when
growing vegetables. Chemical companies tell us that the
chemicals we use are safe if used according to direction, but
research shows that even tiny amounts of poisons absorbed
through the skin can cause such things as cancer, especially in
children.

On the average, a child ingests four to five times more
cancer-causing pesticides from foods than an adult. This can
lead to various diseases later on in the child’s life. With
organic gardening, these incidents are lessened.

Remember, pesticides contain toxins that have only one purpose -
to kill living things.

3. Less harm to the environment. Poisons are often washed into
our waterways, causing death to the native fish and polluting
their habitat.

4. Organic farming practices help prevent the loss of topsoil
through erosion.

The Soil Conservation Service says that an estimated 30 - 32
billion tons of soil erodes from United States farmlands every
year.

5. Cost savings. One does not need to buy costly chemical
fertilizers and pesticides with organic gardening. Many organic
recipes for the control of pest and disease come straight from
the kitchen cupboard. Sometimes other plants can be grown as
companions to the main crop. An example of this is the marigold,
which helps to repel aphids from vegetables. Mixing 1 tablespoon
of liquid dishwashing soap and 1 cup of cooking oil can make a
cheap garden pest spray. Put 3 tablespoons of this mixture in 1
quart of water and spray on plants.

6. A simple mulch of pine needles will help to suppress the
growth of weeds as well as keeping the moisture in.

7. Organic gardening practices help to keep the environment safe
for future generations.

How to Find Novelty Music Boxes for the Music Box and Antique Collector

Filed under: Galleries — admin @ 10:21 am

For the music box and antique collector, there is an almost endless array of music boxes to collect. From carousel music boxes to ballerina music boxes, and antique music boxes to children’s jewelry boxes, there is a large variety to choose from. There also is a specialty area for the music box and antique collector to consider. The area is novelty musical mechanisms. Four top novelty items to consider are furniture musical mechanisms, household items, clocks and wallets, and the automata.

Furniture Musical Mechanisms

In the 19th and early 20th century, many leading manufacturers placed musical mechanisms in furniture. Some of the most popular items their mechanisms were placed in were full sized decorative tables with a compartment for stationary or playing cards. Examples of furniture musical mechanisms include a child’s rocking chair, which was made with a musical mechanism, mounted on it, and wooden chairs whose movements, operated by a hinged seat, would play when someone sat down. These types of items are rarely and clearly fitted with a musical mechanism so they can be easily overlooked.

Household Utensils

Candy and serving dished have been made with musical movements. In addition, elegant teapots with designs such as cats, Victorian houses, and cows have also been made. Lazy Susan’s with 18-note movements, and even musical liquor decanters with fancy styles from golf bags to cars are available. These types of novelty items would be fun additions to the collection of the music box and antique collector.

Clocks and Watches

Numerous table clocks have been made with musical movements. However, when the music box and antique collector goes to an antique shop or second hand store, they might miss these special items since the musical mechanisms may not be working. Simple cleaning and oiling can get the table clocks and up and running.

Many of the cylinder music boxes were also placed in pocket watches and their cases. While early examples are rare and highly valuable, modern ones can be found.

Automata

The best automata were made in and around Paris during the last part of the 19th century. The musical movements many times were concealed in the landscape based in the body of the automation.

All kinds of unique automata were made. Among the figures that were manufactured were dolls, monkeys, jesters, and children doing all manner of complicated things. One interesting example is an extraordinary automation manufactured by the French companyRoullet and Decamps. The figure was a Pierrot and the moon. The moon, made from paper paper mache, has a painted face with brown eyes and tongue that moves from side to side. The Pierrot raises a leg, lifts one arm and moves as if playing a guitar. Such a rare piece, despite the expense, would be a highly valuable asset to the collection of the music box and antique collector.

While carousel music boxes, ballerina music boxes, antique music boxes, and children’s jewelry boxes are examples of music boxes some music box and antique collectors may already have, adding novelty music boxes and musical movements such as the ones addressed in this article would make their collector even more unique. Why not begin that search today?

The Most Valuable Supplement On The Market

Filed under: Templates Resources — admin @ 9:04 pm

We know that the key to permanent and effective weight loss is
to speed up our body’s metabolism. Metabolism simply means the
speed in which our body utilizes and burns through food.

A fast metabolism means that your body processes and utilizes
the nutrients which it needs and then eliminates those it
doesn’t.

There are primarily two ways to naturally speed up your body’s
metabolism.

The first is through resistance training, lifting weights. Lean
muscle tissue is a very metabolically active tissue, it requires
a lot of energy to maintain. The body gets this energy from
burning calories. So the more lean muscle you have, the faster
your metabolism becomes and the more calories that you will burn
at rest.

The second way to effectively speed up your body’s metabolism is
by eating small, well-balanced, nutritious meals or snacks every
three to four hours. This alone can drastically improve the
efficiency of your body’s metabolism.

Now, for those of us with busy, often hectic lives, eating every
three to four hours can be challenging, if not impossible.

What are the chances of eating something healthy and nutritious
every two to three hours? Unless you have a lot of time to
prepare and package meals or hire yor own personal chef to cook
for you, this can be a daunting task.

Well, now there is a solution: Meal replacements.

Meal replacements are probably the most valuable and underrated
supplement on the market. People are always looking for the
magic solution to weight-loss by buying some drink or pill that
promises miraculous results.

We gain weight and body fat by having poor eating habits, so the
only way to undo the damage is to reverse the cycle by
developing good eating habits. Meal replacements make this
possible.

Meal replacements are pre-packaged powdered drink mixes that you
mix with water, milk, or juice and then drink in the place of a
meal. They are convenient, inexpensive, and most taste pretty
good.

For optimum fat-burning and muscle-building results, we need to
consume a high-protein, moderate-carb, low-fat meal about every
three to four hours. This is approximately five to six meals per
day.

So, replace two or three of your whole food meals with meal
replacements and you will drastically start cutting out unneeded
calories, calories that can add up and, if not burned off, be
stored as body fat.

Meal replacements provide a perfect, compact meal in a packet
that is high in protein, low in fat (some have no fat) are low
in carbohydrates, and contain a wide array of vitamins and
minerals. They are low in sugar and cholesterol. They are very
nutrient dense and can be mixed easily and conveniently.

In order to get the same benefits from whole food as some of the
high quality meal replacements, you would have to put together a
large meal like a chicken breast (protein) a potato for some
carbs, and a salad for the vitamins.

You would have to intricately construct the unique amino acids
profile for a huge variety of intact foods and you would have to
combine enough different nutrient dense foods to yield a
complete 100% recommended daily allowance of all vitamins or
minerals and antioxidants.

At the same time doing this while keeping unwanted fat and
sugars to a bare minimum. Now imagine doing this five to six
times a day.

Why bother when you can just rip open a meal replacement packet
and toss it into a cup with some water or skim milk. Presto!
Instant nutrition.

One of the meal replacements I have tried and really liked is
Nature’s Best Perfect Rx. This shake comes in chocolate and
vanilla and mixes up smooth and rich. It costs only about $2.00
a shake. It’s hard to find something that nutritious and low in
calories for fewer than 2 bucks.

I also like AST Sports Science Ny-Tro Pro-40, which is delicious
in the Strawberry flavor. Met-Rx is the granddaddy of all meal
replacements. It’s been around for 10 years.

If something did not have any value to a consumer, it would not
be around for 10 year. Met-Rx and AST Ny-Tro Pro-40 are a bit
more expensive than Natures’ Best Perfect Rx. They are about
$3.00 per packet.

Choose a meal replacement that is high in protein, with about
30-40 grams. Carb sources should be from maltodextrin, a corn
derivative that provides a slow energy release.

Carbs should be around 20-22 grams, but no more than 3 grams of
those from sugar. Fat should be no more than 3-4 grams. Pick one
that mixes up rather thick. The “mouth feel” helps with the
satiety feeling. If you are left full by these meal
replacements, you will not have the urge to eat again for at
least 3 hours.

Check the ingredients. Stick with meals replacements that use a
combination of whey, milk, and egg proteins as the first
ingredient. Most meal replacements, if taken with water, offer
at least 40 grams of protein with minimal fat. Most are under
300 calories, chock full of vitamins and minerals, and taste
rather pleasant.

Many people I have spoken to over the years attribute meal
replacements being on of the biggest reasons why they we able to
lose weight. They are able to get vitamin-rich, high-protein,
moderate carb meal for less than 300 calories.

All of this for about 2 dollars. You cannot even buy a Happy
Meal for fewer than 2.00 dollars and Happy Meals are loaded with
fat!
